How to manage your energy with chronic illness.

You are here: Home / Podcast / How to manage your energy with chronic illness.

February 13, 2024 //  by Kerry Jeffery//  Leave a Comment

The hallmark symptom of all chronic illness is without question, the fatigue.

Every time I ask my community which symptom they most wish they could eliminate permanently, fatigue tops the list.

It is debilitating, disabling and usually coincides with things like brain fog, pain, anxiety and depression.

So it’s no surprise that learning how to manage the energy you have is one of the most important challenges those of us with chronic illness face.

Your level of functionality depends on which energy stage you are experiencing now and how much you can resist the temptation to “do all the things” on the days you do have energy.

Because when you try and do “all the things” there is a very real risk of pushing yourself back into another lengthy flare where you are exhausted  or bed-bound again.

In this first episode of Season 4 , I walk you through what the different energy stages of chronic illness are, share my top tips on managing each stage and more importantly, know how to protect and get the best from your precious energy levels.

If you got some good from this episode, please make sure you share it with anyone you think it will help.

It is only by sharing our stories and experiences that we can help someone else know that they are not alone when it comes to chronic illness.

I’m Kerry Jeffery,  Award Nominated, Internationally Certified Life Coach, Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist.

When I first became chronically ill in 2014, I thought my life was over. I had lost my old self, my career and my ability to care for myself.

I was left sitting in the wreckage of my life trying to find my way back and I couldn’t find a therapist who could even begin to understand how I felt.

So, I became the therapist and coach that I needed to help me rebuild my life. I learned new skills and  created a new emotional framework to find my way to deal with the often complex emotional issues that come with chronic illness.

Now, I help people all over the world learn to do the same and go from surviving, to thriving.

Your new life with chronic illness needs new skills, strategies and expert support from someone who knows exactly how it feels.

You don’t have to keep doing this alone.

Testimonials

“Instead of trying to medicate the problem away or shrug issues off (like the traditional therapist/counsellor/psychiatrists I’ve encountered in the past) you helped me get to the very roots of my anxieties, fears and trauma.”
