Chronic illness changes your whole life.
If you are serious about taking back control of your health, life and happiness, you need someone who understands the issues and more importantly, knows how to fix them.
- The loneliness. The feeling that no one really “gets” what you are going through.
- The exhaustion and pain that makes getting out of bed feel like an almost impossible task.
- Trying to deal with all of the grief and the fear and the uncertainty and still having to get on with your life because all of those responsibilities are not going to go away, just because you have chronic illness.
- The feeling that you have lost yourself and everything that made you who you are.
I know how it feels to be physically and cognitively disabled from chronic illness, unable to care for myself or support myself financially and I know the essential skills and strategies I needed to use to create the right mindset for me to get my life and health back.
Before you can heal physically, you have to deal with your trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, overwhelm and grief first because a constantly stressed body cannot heal.
My proven therapy programs get results because they give you the skills, strategies and support you need to take back control and start rebuilding your life.
I’ve worked with two therapists in the past. Neither therapist had an organised framework for how the sessions would go, neither identified what I was missing, and neither was able to give effective long-term help despite both dealing with chronic conditions themselves.
You understood what I was going through, you had a plan, and you had tools. You listened to what I said, and you gave me useful examples from your own personal experience that I could relate to.
I have struggled with depression off and on most of my life, and right before I was diagnosed I went through a deep depression. When I saw that situation repeating I knew I needed external help. I tried several therapists but they didn’t know how to help someone with health issues. I was thrilled to find you!
Other therapists do not understand the struggle and so they didn’t have any tools or skills that would help. I would basically complain to them and they would try to positive-talk me out of my thought patterns. It was such a waste of time and money, whereas, I made progress with you during our discovery session!
I was having a major flare and experiencing a serious relapse that was triggering thoughts of anger, grief, hopelessness, lack of control and fear for the future.
After our program I feel calmer, less stressed and anxious, happier in myself and more self-confident. I am not so worried about what other people think and more able to put boundaries into place without feeling guilty. I feel much less guilt generally, and guilt had always been a big factor for me. I feel much more hopeful for the future, able to stay in the present moment and enjoy my life more.
