What I love most about the honest conversations that people are so wiling to have with me, is that it is often the very first time that they are publicly sharing their experience of life with chronic illness.
This is such an absolute blessing and something that I deeply appreciate and respect.
This is one of the few times that Maggie Wilde has openly talked about her experiences with life long chronic illness and how she has rebuilt and redefined her life on her terms.
After decades of undiagnosed antiphospholipd syndrome and Lupus, Maggie created a powerful recovery and rebirth after a stroke that left her unable to care for herself. It was the beginning of a new and amazing life where mindset and neural rewiring played a massive role in her recovery.
She has gone on to build a successful business, travel the world and help so many others along the way. I know you will get so much out of this interview with Maggie. You can find out more about Maggie Wilde below.
Maggie Wilde is The Potentialist. She is an award winning Author, Therapist and Coach specializing in Rewiring the Mind to Achieve Ultimate Potential.
Diagnosed with multiple autoimmune disorders at age 21, Maggie has overcome numerous near death flares over the past 29 years. She has recovered from complications of Lupus Nephritis and anti-phospholipid syndrome including Stage 4 Kidney Failure, a severe Stroke, Epilepsy, lung and heart inflammation and a variety of other traumatic symptoms caused during flares of this systemic disease.
Maggie comes from a long genetic lineage of Autoimmune challenges ranging from diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, hashimotos thyroiditis, scleroderma and variety of others.
In 2006 as she lay on yet another hospital bed praying for the fight to be over, Maggie made a choice. “I’m tired” she said. “I can’t fight with my body or this disease anymore. I choose to surrender to live rather than fight to survive.” She joked to her friend by the bedside “If that means I surrender to exist on the other side in spirit I’m okay with that, I’ve had a great life.” She knew at last that if she was meant to be here, she didn’t want or need to fight or fear the disease anymore.
Maggie had surrendered control of her health to her body’s innate wisdom and her higher power. Within hours of this release, Maggie had a major stroke, died and was resuscitated. Her rebirth began that very day. Her life, internal state and health changed forever. At age 39, 18 years after diagnosis, her life actually began.
Since then Maggie’s life has gone from strength to strength. She is one of Australia’s leading Clinical Mindset Therapists and her books and groundbreaking CPR Brain Training Programs have won Gold and Silver Internationally recognised in Psychology and Mental Health, Health and Wellbeing, Women’s Health and Fitness and more.
