When it comes to life with chronic illness, we can so often get stuck in a focus on the physical: The symptoms, the limitations, the supplements, the diet, the sleep, all of the different factors that go into making the most of your own unique health.
So I loved the discussion that Joyce and I had on all the other stuff: relationships, exercise, re-negotiating roles around the house, friendships and so many other things that make up your life.
It’s not just about the physical healing. Chronic illness can bring to light many changes that need to be made, relationships that no longer serve us, boundaries we need to set, all of those things that go into creating our new lives.
I know you will love this chat with Joyce. She is one lovely, inspiring woman with lots of wisdom to share!
Joyce lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and two daughters. Her autoimmune healing journey started ten months ago, after having undiagnosed illnesses for the previous fifteen years. Through this journey, she has developed a passion for encouraging those who struggle with managing autoimmune diseases and enjoys getting great resources into people’s hands that may be helpful in their own healing journey.
This journey has been about much more than physical healing. It has been an emotional and spiritual journey for Joyce as well. She currently works full time, and is working on a book project with her functional medical doctor that they hope will be of great benefit to not only people with chronic health issues, but to people who are hoping to improve their health in general.
