Alissa Frazier remembers always being the “hurt kid” in school. In 9th grade she developed mononucleosis, which kick started getting sick constantly with viruses, lots of medicine and misery all through High School and College.
She was 24 when her vision went blurry with Optic Neuritis and was referred by her optometrist to get an MRI with a Neurologist who told her that “it wasn’t a brain tumour but she would need more tests.”
After 3 months spent having tests including a horrible spinal tap, vision tests and multiple MRI’s, Alissa was diagnosed with relapsing/remitting Multiple Sclerosis and sent home with a stack of drug pamphlets and told to “pick her drug” of choice to treat it.
Alissa spent a lot of time feeling angry and unhappy with MS and not wanting to deal with it, until circumstances led her into making a series of small shifts to recovery and starting to take responsibility for her health.
These days, Alissa is the owner of LissMS and is a Nutritional Therapy Consultant, AIP Certified Coach, Certified Personal Trainer and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, based near Boston Massachusetts where she lives with her husband and three cats.
You can find Alissa on her page LissMS here: http://liss-ms.com/ and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/AlissaMS/ and Alissa is also on instagram.
