Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a painful, debilitating and shame inducing condition that can disable people and leave physical and emotional scars. Cristina starting noticing her HS at the tender age of 13, growing up in Miami “the land of the scantily clothed, beautiful people.”

For a long time Cristina kept it a secret, making excuses for her scars and even managing to hide it from boyfriends and having very negative experiences with dermatologists as she struggled to accept what she didn’t even know was a true disease.

Cristina is a restaurant chef, turned stay at home Mom and military spouse who lives in Hawaii with her family and enjoys spending her days cooking, hiking and hanging out at the beach with her boys. Through diet and lifestyle, Cristina has been able to take her condition from unbearable to near remission and she is now thriving.

Our interview got cut short by a technology gremlin so we didn’t get to officially finish it, but I know that you will love what Cristina has to say and share. You can find out more about her at http://www.thecastawaykitchen.com/ and share her creative paleo recipes and her healing journey.

Enjoy and please, share!
